I always enjoy movies that focus on marketing and technology. In the case of “BlackBerry,” a biographical comedy about the meteoric rise and catastrophic fall of the first mobile phone, it is undoubtedly very interesting. Mike Lazaridis, Douglas Fregin, and their team are a group of enthusiastic geeks with great talent and zero business acumen; however, with the arrival of Jim Balsillie and his brilliant vision, Research in Motion (RIM) becomes a global phenomenon.
An odyssey full of highs and lows, with more mistakes than successes, we get to enjoy a simple and dynamic comedy in which we become a little more familiar with the fragility and obstacles of the vast universe of the technology industries.
What struck me the most, besides its fascinating story, is the setting and the use of a large amount of material from the era, from the obvious introduction of the iPhone to the world, 90s video games like Red Alert, Wolfenstein, Doom, mention of John Carmack, Role-Playing Games, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and much more. This movie, despite not being a documentary, placed us in a time that many of us… It gives us the opportunity to relive, smile, and cherish those years when everything was possible, the world was more naive, and the interconnectivity that we feel overwhelming today was just a dream.

This film gives us a real-time look at the FBI interrogation of Reality Winner, played by Sydney Sweeney, the former intelligence expert questioned for leaking classified information.
Based on a true story and with a clear intention to present the facts in a very minimalist and realistic way, the dialogues are presented in the same way, highlighting the references to the actual recordings and transcripts of the process. A good decision that helps us immerse ourselves in the situation better.
Everything happens in Reality’s modest home, which produces an uncomfortable feeling in which, along with Reality, we are not left with any space or respite. Although we are invisible observers of a non-violent interrogation process, it gives us a deep sense of hopelessness and severity as events unfold.
A very interesting film, which, without falling into excessive patriotism, thanks to very good performances, presents us with the drastic consequences of leaking confidential information and the psychological consequences of an intense interrogation process.

🎥 Coherence (2013) ☄️🤯👥
An interesting suspense film that will keep us glued to the action, both to explore the enigma and to follow the various changes, twists, and versions it offers. Director Jim Byrkit presents us with a dinner among friends in a very limited space, on the day when, apparently, the visit of Comet Miller causes inexplicable events where multiple versions of reality, characters, and points of disconnection are mixed.
The tension begins to rise in the atmosphere as the characters gradually lose clarity when discovering alternative versions of themselves, who, in turn, are also in a desperate situation, causing a generalized paranoia where no one finally knows who is who.
With an interesting idea, I think the intention of deciphering what happens is fun in itself, but unfortunately, it is lost in an ending that leaves us with many doubts and without further consolidation of the multiple threads that open during the night.
