Synopsis

This 16-episode television series, divided into two 8-episode parts, is an ambitious adaptation. It tells the multi-generational story of the Buendia family and the fantastical world of Macondo, attempting to honor Gabriel García Márquez’s acclaimed 1967 magic realism novel.

The recently released first part introduces José Arcadio Buendía and Úrsula Iguarán, cousins who marry against their family’s wishes and embark on a difficult journey in search of a new home. Their adventure leads to the mythical town of Macondo, where the family and the town grow and prosper over the years. The story includes intense love, grand dreams, a frantic struggle to survive, the discovery of magical science and the complex pursuit of freedom and independence.
